An Assistant Designer helps the Designer in all
aspects of designing a line. His/her responsibilities
generally include: sketching flats, 3D models, and doing
illustrations by hand; creating flats and colorways on the
computer; creating Presentation Boards; sourcing fabrics and
trims for samples; preparing and sending Line Packages to
overseas factories. An Assistant Designer also needs training in
sewing, draping, specing and fabrication.
