A Production Assistant or Production
Coordinator assists the Production Manager in completing the
production of a fashion line. He or she is responsible for
sourcing and purchasing fabrics and trims, and tracking
production samples. Further duties may include shipping, as
well as clearing goods from U.S. Customs and communicating
with domestic or overseas factories until the entire order has
been shipped to the warehouse.
Writing cutting tickets, specing garments, and
follow-up on orders are other skills that are required.
