11. 08. 17 - David Leung - Fashion Design Process

Understanding the design stages, research and development process is essential for any fashion designer to be successful in the fashion industry. The topics of the workshop will explore the fashion design core process from development of concept, all phrases of research and experimentation process, professional practices, to final presentation of the collection. The workshop is aimed to inspire a personal design philosophy and vocabulary in taste and style, to strengthen conceptual abilities through research, and to tell one’s own story that is relevant to current fashion.

08. 23. 17 - NYSD is honored to have the incredibly talented Digital Fashion Illustrator and Designer,  Etta Shon teach a workshop at our school on Wednesday, August 23rd from 6-8pm.  Join Etta as she shares her techniques in digital fashion illustration from conception to finished rendering. She'll be sharing her process which can be applied across all digital platforms- including digital tablets, Cintiq, Wacom tablets, and computers. Get several perspectives through different methods and variety of poses and clothing under the critical eye of Etta Shon.

6/16/17 - Fashion Drawing Workshop

NYSD is honored to have the legendary Fashion Illustration Professor Richard Rosenfeld teach a workshop at our school on Friday, June 16th from 12-2pm. Learn from the master who created illustrations for the industry since the 1960's including publications like Condé Nast and Glamour at our Fashion Drawing Workshop. 

5/11/17 - NYSD Expo

NYC x Design, a citywide celebration of everything design including fashion. NYSD will be holding an NYSD EXPO in collaboration with local designers while also showcasing our student's work. 

 

2016 Fashion Presentation - Nolcha Show

The Nolcha Shows are a leading award winning event, held during New York Fashion Week, for independent fashion designers to showcase their collections to a global audience of press, retailers, stylists and industry influencers. Over the past nine years the Nolcha Shows have become established as a platform of discovery; promoting cutting edge innovative fashion designers through runway shows and exhibitions.

New York School of Design showcased the curated work of three selected students at the Ones to Watch collective runway show at the Nolcha Shows, during New York Fashion Week, held at Artbeam on September 12th, 2016.
