The intensive program consists of 9 courses and a total of 600 hours.
The fundamental courses in the first tier introduces students the theoretical concepts of fashion design from historical trends, usage of fabrics, to color theory. Students put these concepts to use by creating their brand identity and defining their customer profile presented on mood boards.
The practical training in the second tier includes fashion illustration, sewing, pattenmaking, and draping - all skills required of fashion designers who understand how a garment is constructed. During the second tier of hands-on training, students get a glimpse into the world of technical design and obtain the ability to draft patterns for their designs with confidence.
In the third and final tier, students will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for the purpose of creating their fashion portfolio. Students will have the freedom to incorporate their brand identity by presenting their color story, inspiration, fabric swatches, flats and fashion sketches, as well as an editorial of their collection to their interview-ready portfolio.
Many of our students come from backgrounds outside of fashion design and do not know where to begin this journey. That’s where we come in. We provide the support and help lead our students to achieving their goals. By the end of the program, they are amazed at how much they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.
Our team of educators include professionals from the industry who are committed to nurturing the next generation of designers. Our instructors for the fashion design program are patternmakers, costume designers, merchandisers, stylists, and fashion designers among many more. You’ll gain industry contacts just by attending class!
This Fashion Design program does not require prior experience in fashion design. For those beginners, an introductory class to sewing is included during the first tier at no extra cost. Students with some knowledge of sewing are also welcome to join and will benefit the most from our courses. They'll have a head start and be able to grasp concepts easily.
